Anything for you ma'am

Recently finished reading "Anything for you ma’am". I am not good at writing book reviews but thought I should share its story for those who haven't heard of this novel. Earlier I had no interest in fictions thanks Paulo Coelho's Alchemist which forced me to shift the interests. I later bought two other books by Paulo Coelho “Veronica decides to die” and “Eleven minutes”. The time when I deeply got involved in Veronica the same time lost the book while traveling. That shifted my attention to Tushar Raheja's "Anything for you ma’am".

The reviews on websites were mixed but I decided to go with it as I have some special feelings for IITD. To tell you frankly I really enjoyed the journey from start to end.

Its a story of a lover boy called Tejas Narula who is in deep love with Shreya his sisters friend and stays far away from him (Delhi-Chennai long journey !!). It has all funs one can expect about IIT life and the youth in general. The college fun, playing pranks to professors etc. But our lover boy although not sincere in studies, is very much sincere to his love. In beginning he thinks distances do not matter but later the urge to see her occupies his consciousness such that he takes all the all risks just to meet her. The chance to bunk industrial tour seems too perfect for him to reach Chennai. But the journey takes so many twists and fate tests his all-round abilities to rise over all the difficulties. The book has very good humor (Prof. Puppy, Tejas's friends and his overall comments in book about any situation !). The story takes so many turns, especially with Prof. Puppy and his BioBull project and Tejas’s journey in train. The book also has some romantic moments, the story about Shreya and Tejas's candle light dinner. I love the song he sung at that moment,

So all those who believe in love and its power, just grab the book.
Love helps our hero just as the king in the Alchemist says,
If you really want something, the whole universe is going to conspire to help you. But to do that, you have to be brave. Brave enough to fight for things that are meaningful to you!!

मैत्र जिवाचे

मी खूप विचार करत होतो की हृदयनाथ मंगेशकारानी त्या ध्वनिफितिला हे नाव का बर दिला असाव? खरच मित्र कितीतरी असतात. त्यातले असे कितीसे जिवाभावाचे? म्हणूनच त्यांना एखादाच मैत्र जिवाचा असणार. तसच काहितरी सुरेश भटांबद्दल त्यांना वाटले असेल म्हणून त्यांनी हे नाव दिलं असाव. "उजाडल्या वरी सख्या" गाणं मी पहिल्यांदा भावसरगम मध्ये ऐकल. दिदिंनी ते कैसेट मध्ये छानच म्हटलय पण हृदयनाथ मंगेशकरांच्या आवाजात ते अजुनच अप्रतिम वाटतं. मराठीतली ही अप्रतिम ग़ज़ल ऐकन्यासाठी भावसरगम ला आवर्जुन जा।त्यातली दोन तीन कडवी नमूद करतोय,

उजाडल्या वरी सख्या निघून जा घराकडे,
अजुनही उशिवरी टिपुर चांदणे पडे
उगीच वेळ सारखीविचारातोस काय तू?
पुन्हा पुन्हा मिठित ही शहारतोस काय तू?
पुन्हा अशी कधी कुणास रात्र सापडे ...


अजुन कुंतलात या तुझा न जिव गुंतला..
अजुन पाकळ्यातला मरंद ही न संपला
अजुन ही कसे तुझे लबाड ओठ कोरडे?

मंदार तू मला अपडेट देतोसच पण यावेळी मला ते मिस नाही करयाचय.

पुन्हा भेट कधी?

तू आम्हाला सोडून जाणार हे कळालं. मग पुन्हा ईथे दिलखुलास कोण हसनार? तस तू फक्त ऑफिस सोडणार, पुन्हा भेट होतच राहील पण काही क्षण तुझ्याशिवाय नीरस असतील. म्हणजे बघ फुलांमधुन गंध काढला, आकाशाचा रंग काढला तर त्या बागेत फिरायला कोणाला आवडेल का? चल पुन्हा भेटत राहूच.

चांद निकलेगा पर वो रात, रात ना होगी पहलेसी
वो मुलाक़ात, मुलाक़ात ना होगी पहले सी
रंजिशे कुछ कम तो होगी तेरे मिलने से
यह अलग बात के वो बात ना होगी पहले सी

चल बहोत सेंटी सेंटी हुआ...मुझे पता है तुझे पसंद नही
इसलिये ऎन्जॉय द न्यू चेंज.

दंडवते साहेब आजकाल छान चुटकुले पाठवता हो. पण सारे मराठी असून ते इंग्लिश मध्ये का हो लिहिता?
(त्यातील काही निवडक नमूद करतोय)

१. 2 री तला एक मुलगा School मधून घरी आल्यावर वडीलाना म्हणतो
मुलगा : मी उद्या school ला जाणार नाही
बाबा : का रे काय झाले
मुलगा : आज आमच्या school मधे आमचे वजन केले
बाबा : मग त्याचा school मधे न जान्याशी काय संबंध ?
मुलगा : काय माहित उद्या आम्हाला विकून सुद्धा टाकतील...

२. रावनाच्या लंकेला सोन्याची लंका का म्हणतात .....????
कारण रावनाला लहाणपनी आई बाबा सोन्या म्हनायचे ....!!!!!

spider man

शुक्रवारी spider man ३ पाहीला। हिंदी बरोबर तमिल, तेलुगु (आणि तत्सम साऊथ languages मध्ये) आणि यावेळी तो भोजपुरी मध्येही release झाला. हमार मंगेतरवा को छोड़ नाही तो वगैरे वगैरे (खरच मी त्याचे प्रोमोज पाहिलेत ). पण आम्ही तो spider man च्या मातृभाषेतच पाहिला. hollywood movies इंग्लिश मध्येच पहाव्यात त्यातच त्यांची खरी मजा आहे. आता "साधी मानसं" मराठीतच पाहायला बर वाटेल, इंग्लिश मध्ये काही जमेल का ते? असो. movie as usual was not disapponting.
पहिल्या सीनलाच मागाच्या रो मधून एक गोंडस (cute) लहान बाळाचा आवाज आला. after all this was suppose to be a kids movie. पण बिचारा spider man यावेळी रोमांटिक मूड मध्ये आहे, ते त्याच्या बाल मनाला नाही पटल. त्यामुळे पहिल्याच प्रणय दृश्यात जेंव्हा पिटर उर्फ़ spider man (आणि इतर प्रेक्षक ही) गुंग होता तेंव्हा हे बाळराजे म्हणाले "आई spider man कधी येणार ?" आता त्याला काय माहिती की त्याचा spider man मोठा झालाय ते?
The second item he gave was regarding one villain made up of Dust (or we can say DustMan)
"आई ते मातीचे काका कुठे गेले ?"
I really enjoyed the मूवी (with this small kid's sub titles !)
But spider man is must watch for all animation lovers.
कधीतरी लहान होऊंन पाहण्यात ही मजा आहे !!

परवा सा रे ग म प चा एपिसोड खुपच छान (आणि इमोशनल) झाला. जसा गायकांसाठी तसा माझ्यासाठीही. सगळ्यांनिच गानी छान म्ह्टली. विशेष प्रसाद ओक नी. त्याने ते अप्रतिम पेलल. आणि तिथेच माझाही कंठ दाटून आला अन डोळेही भरून आले. सौमित्रचे अमर्त्य शब्द आहेत आणि मिलिंद ने पण अप्रतिम चाल लावलिये.
"दिस नकळत जाई, सांज रेंगाळून राही,
क्षण एकही ही न ज्याला तुझी आठवण नाही"
हे असेल इमोशनल माणसाच लक्षन पण आजकल जगात ती भावना राहिलेयच कुठ? मग मी जसा आहे तसा बरा आहे. कोरड अन रुक्ष जगण्यापेक्षा तरी ते बर, नाही का?
माझे गाण्याबद्दलच वेड काही नवीन नाही (माझ्याकडे लहानपणीचा एक फोटो आहे, लांब मुलीसारखे केस अन हातात रेडियो :) ) ते वेड अजुन जपलय यातच सारा काही आलं !!

I decided to quit

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job,

my relationship,




my spirituality...



I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with GOD.
"GOD", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answersurprised me... "Look around", GOD said. "Do you see the fern and thebamboo?" "Yes", I replied. "When I planted the fern and the bambooseeds, Itook very good care of them.
I gave them light.I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered thefloor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on thebamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again,nothing came from the bamboo seed.But I did not quit on the bamboo." GODsaid.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I wouldnot quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see. I would notquit." GOD said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Comparedtothe fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 monthslaterthe bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five yearsgrowingroots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.Iwould not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
GOD said to me. "Did you know, that all this time you have beenstruggling, you have actually been growing roots?" "I would not quit onthebamboo.I will never quit on you." "Don't compare yourself to others."GODsaid. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they bothmakethe forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", GOD said to me. "You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?" I asked. "How high will the bamboo rise?" GODasked in return. "As high as it can?"I questioned "Yes."GOD said, "Givemeglory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can helpyou see that GOD will never give up on you "Life is not a problem to besolved, but a gift to be enjoyed"

मला माहिती आहे की कुठलीही नविन कविता ही कशावरुन तरी सहज सुचलेली असते। निदान माझ्या बाबतीत तरी हे खर आहे। म्हणूनच मी माझी कवीता निरपेक्ष मानत नाही। अनुभवांना कल्पनेची जोड़ लाभली की कवितेचा जन्म...मग ती भाषेचिही बन्धनं तोडून सरळ काळजाला हात घालते।
पुढील कविता 'अजनबी शहर है, अजनबी शाम है, जिंदगी अजनबी क्या तेरा नाम है !!' वरुन सहज सुचलेली।

एक पल का ठहराव और थम सी जाती है जिंदगी
हर पल नए ख्वाब दिखाती है जिंदगी॥

मुमकिन नही भूल जाना तुम्हे
हर पल याद दिलाती है जिंदगी॥

हर हसीं लम्हा अब पराया सा लगता है
बादलों में घिरकर उदासी सी छा जाती है जिंदगी॥

हमसे बिछड़ के क्या खुश रह पाओगे तुम
हर वक़्त यह सवाल उठाती है जिंदगी॥

पर जब भी हमें देख कर एक चेहरा मुस्कुराता है
हमसे नाराज ना होना यही पैगाम दे जाती है जिंदगी...

सुन्या सुन्या मैफिलित माझ्या

कुणाची आठवण का, कधी व कशी येईल याची उत्तर अजुन तरी मला सापडली नाहीत. बर्याच दिवसांपासून मी स्मिता (पाटिल) बद्दल लिहिन म्हणत होतो, पण काय लिहायाचं याचा प्रश्न होताच. ती आज आपल्यात नाही पण कुठून तरी अधून मधून टीवी वर एक झलक देवून जाते. काही दिवसांपूर्वी झी मराठी वर तिच्याबद्दल एक कार्यक्रम होऊन गेला. त्यात तिला ओळखणारी दिग्गज मंडळीही होती. स्मिताची बहीण, गौतम राजध्यक्ष वगैरे। मला तिचा आत्तापर्यंत आवडलेला सिनेमा 'उंबरठा'. तिचा साधा चेहरा आणि धारदार नजर सर्व विलक्षण आहे त्या सिनेमात. ती एक उत्तम कवयात्रिही होती असं त्या कार्यक्रमातून समजलं. आणि माझा अंदाज ही खरा ठरला. ती भावूक होती पण कमकुवत तर मुळीच नसनार. तिला जे जे पटलं ते ते तीनं केलं. spotboys शी दोस्ती केली, गरीबांना मदत केली आणि सहज अभिनय ही केला. तीनं अजुन जरा जगायला हवं होतं असं कधी मनात येतं. पण तिचे जे जे सिनेमे आहेत ते काहीतरी सामाजिक आशय असणारे आहेत (१-२ अपवाद असतील शराबी वगैरे). मराठी ने हिंदी चित्रपटांना खूप अभिनेत्री दिल्या पण सार्थ अभिनाची जोड़ आणि नितिमुल्यांशी तडजोड न करणारी एकमेव स्मिताच असेल. तिच्यावर चित्रित झालेल उंबरठा मधलं हे गीत ईथे आवर्जुन लिहावसं वाटते, हृदयनाथ मंगेशाकरानी छान अशी चाल दिलिये आणि गाणं कसं थेट काळजाला भिडनारं आहे.

Love you unconditionally !!

Am sure Himesh Reshmiya must have gone through the toughest phase of a lonely lover. Forget about the controversies of his singing I feel he brings that dard in his songs. I borrowed this line from his song and these thoughts clicked me while listening "Love you unconditionally"

I remember those days..
evenings so pleasant and nights so sweet
I used to dance on thy beats
That was beginning of new journey..
journey so incomplete without you
you walked with me holding my hand gently
Now the paths are different and road so lonely..
But I have to walk, with memories of days spent with you
which makes me complete even without you
Life is changing and so I am

• Have a firm handshake.

एकदा एक माणूस मरून नरकात जातो. देव त्याला म्हणतो की तू फक्त एकदाच पुण्य केल्याने तुला शिक्षेत choice आहे तेंव्हा तू हवी ती शिक्षा मागुन घे . तो मानुस आजुबाजूला पाहतो तर त्याला एक पेक्षा एक भयानक शिक्षा दिसतात. तेवढयात तो पाहतो तर त्याला दिसते की गांधीजिंच्या मांडीवर एका बाजुला रम्भा आणि दुसर्या बाजुला मेनका आहे !! तो देवाला म्हंतो की मला ती गांधिजींचिच शिक्षा द्या. त्यावर देव म्हंतो , " अरे बाबा ती शिक्षा गांधिना नाही तर रम्भा अणि मेनकेला आहे :))
